The multidetector computed tomography diagnosis results of sclerosing mesenteritis in 76 patients are presented. Typical signs of sclerosing mesenteritis are discussed and indices of diagnostic value are estimated. The main pattern ("fat ring" sign) achieves 100 % specificity and positive predictive value and 75 % sensitivity.
