Middle Ear Pathology in Premature Infants of Different Gestational Age

The aim of the work was to study the middle ear pathology prevalence in premature infants of different gestational age in the first year of life. There were examined 128 premature infants born at term from 24 to 37 weeks of gestation, and 49 full-term infants. Examination showed a high percentage of the middle ear pathology incidence in premature infants of different gestational age: 42 % — at the initial evaluation, 31 % — at 3 months, 25 % — at 6 months and 40 % — at one year, while in the first six months of life — with predominance of otitis media with effusion (59 % of children), and in the first year of life — of tubootitis (52 %).
