Social Well-Being and Health-Related Quality of Life of the Population of Eastern Siberia

Objective and subjective components of health-related quality of life of organized (students and police officers) and unorganized working population in Eastern Siberia under chronic social stress have been considered. SF-36 and social well-being questionnaires were used. Deficiency of biomedical potential and cognitive component of decision-making as a mental resource for overcoming chronic social stress, the presence of intrapersonal conflicts and impaired social behavior, low levels of health and functional capacity of the cardiovascular system, a wide range of functional disorders were identified. There was shown the decrease of individual social well-being and health-related quality. The conclusion about the need for effective government intervention to break formed by chronic social stress «the cycle of social disadvantage» was done.
